About Me

A woman with shoulder-length light brown hair sitting on a tan leather couch. She is smiling, wearing a black top with gold buttons, gold earrings, a gold watch, and black pants. There is a green potted plant behind her and a framed picture on the white wall.

Zulay Labra, Founder and Principal Consultant

With more than two decades of leadership experience in financial services, I serve as a strategic partner to firms at critical growth inflection points. I’ve led and scaled teams in both a large financial institution and an entrepreneurial RIA, giving me a deep perspective on how structure, discipline, and culture must evolve as complexity increases.

My background spans executive leadership across operations, compliance, talent development, and management, with a consistent focus on building processes that support—not stifle—high performance. I am often described as a “culture carrier”: someone who brings clarity, rigor, and accountability while protecting the values and identity that make a firm successful in the first place.

I founded Z Lab to help leadership teams move from reactive operations to intentional execution. Together, we define clear priorities, establish ownership and accountability, formalize workflows, and strengthen operational and compliance foundations—so teams can operate with confidence, consistency, and alignment. The result is a firm that runs more smoothly, scales more predictably, and positions its leadership to focus on growth, client relationships, and long-term vision.

My role is not to take over your business—but to walk alongside you as a trusted partner, providing structure, perspective, and execution discipline so your firm can grow the right way, without losing what made it exceptional to begin with.

In my view, many growth challenges aren’t due to a lack of talent — but to a lack of structure.

If you’re at an inflection point—where growth demands a stronger operating foundation—Z Lab is designed to support you. Click below to set up a free consultation.
